Complains from the computer users about Conhost.exe
I was notified of some malware on my computer. My antivirus found some Trojans and successfully quarantined them. But I still have a file that keeps popping up - conhost.exe. I understand this is a legitmate Win7 file in some cases, but mine is identified as being found in C:\Users\~\AppData\Local\Temp.
All, just before Christmas the WIN7SP1/system32 conhost.exe started on my PC. It had never been there before, and is causing the PC to slow down. On top various forums suggest that if conhost.exe is running in the systems32 directory, there is a chance that it disguises a key logger. Microsoft offers a hotfix, which doesn't help at all. Should I get rid of conhost.exe, and if so, how ? Thanks.
Earlier, I installed Outlast. I just finished downloading it. After finished setup, I run the game. OutlastLauncher.exe. An cmd appear and the game open right after that cmd. The game is running pretty slow/lag. I tried to Ctrl + Alt + Delete. Start Task manager, but the task manager closed itself a second later. I opened Task Manager manually from Task bar. I saw conhost.exe is flooding on the process. However, Task manager closed itself, again. Conhost.exe is taking over my CPU, and I'm afraid if my CPU overheats. Why is this happening? Is this a virus? Please help me.
